blp AI TECHNOLOGY USAGE POLICY

1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the usage of AI technology in conceptual designs at blp. This policy ensures that all AI-generated designs adhere to ethical standards, protect intellectual property rights, assign ownership appropriately, establish a clear complaint resolution process, and define the extent of AI technology usage within the company.

 

2. OWNERSHIP & COPYRIGHT

2.1 Ownership: All conceptual designs generated using AI technology at blp are considered the property of the company, regardless of the direct involvement of individual employees or contractors. Employees or contractors involved in AI design projects shall not claim individual ownership over any AI-generated designs.

 

2.2 Copyright: blp shall hold the copyright to all conceptual designs created using AI technology. Any use, reproduction, or distribution of AI-generated designs without proper authorisation from the company is strictly prohibited.


3. RESPONSIBLE PERSONS

3.1 AI Development Team: The AI development team, consisting of designated employees with expertise in AI technology, shall be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of AI systems used for conceptual designs.

 

3.2 Design Team: The design team, comprising skilled designers and artists, will collaborate with the AI development team to ensure the integration of AI technology aligns with the company's design objectives and brand guidelines.

 

3.3 Legal Department: The legal department shall provide guidance on copyright issues, intellectual property protection, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to AI-generated designs.

 

4. COMPLAINTS & RESOLUTION

4.1 Complaint Process: If any employee or external party believes that an AI-generated conceptual design violates copyright, infringes upon intellectual property rights, or raises ethical concerns, they should promptly report the issue to the designated AI Development Team contact.

 

4.2 Investigation and Resolution: The AI Development Team, in coordination with the Legal Department, shall thoroughly investigate the complaint. If the complaint is substantiated, appropriate action will be taken, which may include modifying or withdrawing the AI-generated design, compensating affected parties, or taking legal measures, as deemed necessary and appropriate.

 

5. EXTENT OF USAGE

5.1 Design Assistance: AI technology may be utilised to assist the design team in generating conceptual designs, improving design processes, and enhancing creativity.

 

5.2 Human Input: AI technology should always be used as a tool that complements human expertise. The design team's creative input, critical thinking, and final approval remain essential throughout the design process.

 

5.3 Ethical Considerations: AI technology should not be used to create designs that promote hate speech, discrimination, violence, or any content that violates legal or ethical standards.

 

5.4 Compliance with Regulations: AI-generated designs must comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, and consumer protection.

 

6. POLICY COMPLIANCE

6.1 Training and Awareness: All employees involved in conceptual design projects utilising AI technology shall receive appropriate training and awareness programs to ensure compliance with this policy.

 

6.2 Policy Violations: Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to warnings, suspensions, or termination of employment or contracts, in accordance with blp's policies and procedures.

 

This policy is subject to periodic review and updates as deemed necessary by blp. All employees and contractors are responsible for familiarising themselves with and adhering to this policy.
