ABOUT US

BLP (Northern) Ltd is a leading provider of high-quality printed packaging solutions, offering innovative designs and products to a diverse range of industries. We are looking for an experienced Apple Mac Reprographics Operator to join our production team, specialising in preparing artwork and ensuring files are print-ready for various packaging projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and modify artwork using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other commercial and bespoke design software to ensure print-ready files.
  • Operate Apple Mac systems to handle the creation, editing, and adjustment of digital files for packaging production.
  • Work closely with the pre-press and design teams to ensure artwork meets technical specifications for print, including colour management, resolution, and bleed requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and correct any file issues that may affect the quality of the final print, such as font usage, colour separations, or image clarity.
  • Ensure artwork complies with client guidelines and expectations, making revisions where necessary.
  • Collaborate with production and finishing teams to ensure proper file output and seamless transition from design to production.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Perform quality control checks on all artwork to minimise errors and rework during the production process.
  • Ensure efficient workflow, maintaining organised digital file management and archiving for easy retrieval.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in reprographics and print production technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 4 years proven experience working as a Reprographics Operator or in a similar role within the Commercial Print and Packaging industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Apple Mac systems.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including colour separation, trapping, overprint, imposition, and die-cutting would be desired, but is not prerequisite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision on complex projects.
  • Familiarity with colour management tools and techniques, including Pantone and CMYK colour systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve artwork issues to ensure high-quality print results.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Knowledge of packaging design and production is highly desirable.

WORKING HOURS:

Full Time, Permanent Position:

Monday to Friday - 8 Hour Shift
6.00am - 2.00pm  &  10.00am - 6.00pm

NB: This position may also require ad-hoc tasks including assisting in other areas of production
